HEC Paris honors Class of 2014 graduates

Doha, Qatar – December 14, 2014: HEC Paris School of Management, ranked number one in Executive Education by the Financial Times in 2014, paid tribute to the latest batch of distinguished graduates from the HEC Executive MBA and Specialized Master Degree in Strategic Business Unit Management during a convocation ceremony held on 13 December 2014 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

Among the speakers who praised and gave inspiring words to the 78 graduates at the ceremony were Professor Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC Paris; Professor Laoucine Kerbache, Dean and CEO of HEC Paris in Qatar; His Excellency Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France in Qatar; and Mr. Christophe Eon, Deputy VP HR, Communications & CSR of Total E&P Qatar.

“It is with great pride that we congratulate the Class of 2014 for having met all the stringent requirements and for having excelled in your academic performance to merit the distinction of receiving an HEC Paris EMBA and Specialized Master Degree,” said Professor Ramanantsoa as he addressed the graduates at the ceremony. “You are now prepared and better equipped to face the challenges of a rapidly globalized business and economic environment and bring your businesses or the companies you work for to greater heights.

“We also look forward to welcoming you back someday to share your knowledge, experiences and expertise as distinguished alumni and members of the HEC Paris community,” he added.

For his part, Prof. Kerbache commended the graduates for all their efforts and commitments in completing the programs.

“The dedication and hard work that each and every one of you placed on your studies are truly admirable,” Dean & CEO, Prof. Kerbache said. “By efficiently dividing your time and attention between your professional duties and scholastic obligations, you have already manifested glimpses of your time management proficiencies, which are essential in the implementation of the conceptual frameworks, skills, and best practices you’ve learned from these programs.

“Clearly, now that you know more, you will dare more to accept and confront every situation that may either test your patience, expertise and managerial skills,” he added. “Thus, I am confident that not only will you be able to pass those tests, but even exceed expectations and be worthy of being counted as among the top business leaders of tomorrow.”

The HEC Executive MBA program offers senior managers and executives a practical and intense program, developed to provide an understanding of the social, economic and environmental aspects of international business. It has also been distinctly positioned to enable participants to gain comprehensive, innovative, and applicable knowledge and skills that will facilitate the transformation of vision into action by specially focusing on strategy and leadership in a global business environment.

Throughout this period, participants will learn from top faculty, and from other senior participants who bring a wealth of practical business experience, from a wide spectrum of industries and management functions, to the classroom.

On the other hand, the Specialized Master Degree in Strategic Business Unit Management is aimed at enhancing the managerial skills and capabilities of high-potential professionals enabling them to innovate, detect new opportunities and implement high-performance processes.

Specifically targeted for professionals who are responsible for a business unit or profit centre within a company, or who are likely to occupy this type of position in the near future, the content and pedagogical methods employed in this program were drawn from the experience and expertise of the world-renowned faculty of HEC Paris.
